Arizona-Built HABU Accepted Into Y Combinator’s Fall 2026 Batch
By Kyle Macdonald, COO of Silicon Oasis
Arizona’s startup ecosystem has another company headed to Y Combinator.
Phoenix-based HABU, an AI-native real estate development company founded by CEO Bryan Tharalson and CTO Junhao Chen, announced its acceptance into Y Combinator’s Fall 2026 batch.
HABU is tackling one of the country’s largest challenges: housing. The company is building an internal AI-native operating system designed to replace many of the fragmented, manual processes that still define real estate development—from underwriting and due diligence to research, communication, and project execution.
The goal is ambitious: enable development teams to manage significantly more projects, reduce costs, and ultimately help bring more housing to market.
HABU’s approach sits at the intersection of two industries with major Arizona relevance: technology and real estate. Rather than simply building another software product for developers, the company describes itself as an AI-native real estate development company, using its technology internally to rethink how projects are executed.
HABU’s selection also represents another important signal for Arizona’s technology ecosystem. Y Combinator has helped launch companies including Airbnb, DoorDash and Stripe, and its accelerator remains one of the most recognized platforms for early-stage technology companies.
Arizona founders are increasingly building companies capable of competing on a national and global stage. HABU’s acceptance into YC is another example of what we believe is happening across the state: world-class founders are building consequential companies right here in Arizona.
The Silicon Oasis continues to grow.
