Lifekind Health Moves Global Headquarters and Healthtech Development to Scottsdale

By Kyle Macdonald, COO of Silicon Oasis

Scottsdale has landed another headquarters operation with a technology component as Lifekind Health relocates its global headquarters to Greater Phoenix.

The healthcare provider announced September 15 that its new headquarters at 18940 N. Pima Road in Scottsdale will serve as the center for executive leadership, administrative operations and the technology-development team behind Savas Software.

Lifekind specializes in coordinated care for chronic pain. Its model brings medical, behavioral, physical and complementary therapies into a single care ecosystem, while its Scottsdale headquarters will support corporate strategy, healthcare technology development and administration of community health initiatives.

The announcement matters to Arizona’s innovation economy because healthcare technology growth does not come only from venture-backed software startups or laboratory spinouts. It also occurs when healthcare operators place the teams building and deploying new technology inside the state.

Greater Phoenix has spent years building a larger life-sciences and healthcare innovation base around organizations ranging from major hospital systems and research institutions to emerging biotech, medtech and digital-health companies. Headquarters functions add another layer to that ecosystem because they concentrate decision-makers, technical teams and future hiring in the market.

Lifekind’s decision also reinforces Scottsdale’s role as more than a corporate-services market. Technology development will sit alongside executive and administrative functions at the new headquarters, connecting the company’s healthcare operations with its software capabilities.

Arizona’s path toward becoming a deeper technology hub will depend partly on attracting companies whose technology teams are embedded inside other industries. Healthcare is one of the clearest examples. As more operators build software, data and technology capabilities here, the boundaries between Arizona’s traditional industries and its startup ecosystem continue to narrow — another building block in the Silicon Oasis.
