Scottsdale-Based Jetstream Venture Fund Expands Healthtech Portfolio with Two AI-Enabled Investments

Scottsdale-based Jetstream Venture Fund is expanding its healthtech portfolio with new investments in ImageAiD and Moonrise Medical, two companies developing AI-enabled technologies for earlier detection and management of Peripheral Artery Disease.

PAD affects more than 200 million people globally and approximately 12 million in the United States. Both companies are working to move sophisticated vascular diagnostics closer to the point of care, allowing clinicians to identify problems earlier without relying exclusively on specialized testing environments.

ImageAiD combines Mayo Clinic-validated research with a handheld Doppler device and predictive AI software designed to detect PAD before physical symptoms appear.

Moonrise Medical is taking a different approach, using automation to simplify Doppler ultrasound assessments and Pedal Acceleration Time calculations so frontline clinicians can more easily evaluate vascular health.

For Jetstream, the investments reflect a broader thesis around using software and automation to bring advanced healthcare capabilities into everyday clinical workflows.

“Vascular care today is far too reactive; patients are routinely diagnosed only after irreversible tissue damage has occurred,” Jetstream Portfolio Manager Mike Shufeldt said in announcing the investments.

There is also an Arizona capital story behind the announcement.

Jetstream is managed by Xcellerant Ventures and Sweater Industries and is structured as an interval fund providing investors access to private companies with a $5,000 minimum initial investment and no carried interest. Its broader portfolio includes companies such as SpaceX, Shield AI and Hill Research.

The fund says its healthcare investment strategy is informed by the clinical, operating and founder experience of its leadership team, allowing it to identify specialized early-stage opportunities that may sit outside traditional venture networks.

That's important for Arizona.

Building a stronger healthtech ecosystem isn't only about producing startups. It also requires investors with the technical knowledge and networks to identify promising companies, fund them early and help connect innovation with commercialization.

Arizona already has significant healthcare systems, research institutions, medical technology companies and a growing base of venture investors. Connecting those pieces more effectively is how a deeper healthtech cluster gets built.

Jetstream's latest investments are another example of Arizona-based capital participating in that process.
