Chris Fox: Empowering Startups in Arizona’s Innovation Ecosystem
My mission is simple: empower the people behind Arizona’s startups and strengthen the ecosystem that supports them. My journey here has been anything but traditional—shaped by experiences on the football field, in the yoga studio, and as a founder navigating the highs and lows of building a company from scratch. I grew up in Scottsdale, where I was part of Chaparral High School’s 2009 state championship football team before playing Division I at Utah State alongside future NFL standout Bobby Wagner. That experience taught me grit, teamwork, and the discipline to perform under pressure. In my junior year,I made the unconventional choice to step away from my scholarship to focus on personal growth—a decision that set the tone for the rest of my career. In 2016,I co-founded BAMBOX Produce,a3,500 sq. ft. indoor urban farm that supplied restaurants and homes with 150 pounds of fresh greens each week while using 98% less water than traditional farming. Leading BAMBOX gave me firsthand experience with scaling operations, educating the market, and facing the unexpected—lessons that make me a better advisor to founders today. Now,I serve as an HR Tech Business Consultant at VensureHR , helping startups and scale-ups build strong, compliant, and scalable people operations.I bring enterprise-level HR, payroll, and benefits solutions to high-growth companies, so founders and investors can focus on what they do best—building their vision—while I help prevent costly mistakes behind the scenes. Equally important to me is building Arizona’s startup ecosystem. As Executive Director of Startup World Cup Arizona , I connect local founders to the global stage, with winners receiving a$100K SAFE investment and hyper-scaling support from Open Access Ventures . Through Silicon Oasis and Freeway , I collaborate with other community leaders to mentor founders, host impactful events, and unite Arizona’s tech ecosystem to make Phoenix one of the most accessible and connected tech hubs in the U.S. From startups to scale-ups,I believe that when we empower people, we build companies—and communities—that last. - Chris Fox , Silicon Oasis Ambassador Want to get involved or share your story ?
