AZ Roots, National Reach: AirGarage Secures $23M Series B

By: Kyle Macdonald , COO of Silicon Oasis What began as a student project at Arizona State University has grown into one of the most compelling parking-tech companies in the country. AirGarage , a parking management startup co-founded by ASU students Scott Fitsimones , Chelsea Border , and Jonathon Barkl , just announced a $ 23 million Series B led by Headline Growth, with participation from Founders Fund and Fourthline Capital.

The company has now raised over $ 41 million to date and grown its footprint to 300 + parking facilities across 38 states . This funding comes after a 10x increase in revenue since its 2021 Series A and a transition into cash-flow positive territory—no small feat in today’s venture environment. What AirGarage Does AirGarage has built a full-stack parking operating system for real estate owners. Their platform replaces outdated kiosks and fragmented software with a vertically integrated system that handles: License plate recognition Dynamic pricing Payments & enforcement Real-time analytics for landlords The result? Higher revenues for parking owners, better experiences for drivers, and a smarter layer of infrastructure for cities. Co-founder Jonathon Barkl says it best:“Most parking is still offline… You can’t optimize what you can’t see.” Why This Matters to Arizona Though now based in San Francisco, AirGarage’s roots are pure Arizona. From early pilot partners in Tempe and Phoenix to its dorm-room beginnings at ASU, this company represents exactly the kind of founder journey Silicon Oasis was built to spotlight. AirGarage’s story is a signal: 🚗 Unsexy problems are big opportunities 🏗️ Arizona can produce scalable, VC-backed software 🌵 Our founders can go national—without forgetting where they came from Congratulations to the AirGarage team on this huge milestone. The rest of us? We’ll keep watching for the next breakout company growing in the shade of the Silicon Oasis.
