Arizona AI Meets the Phone Call: Crexendo Partners with Tresic
By Kyle Macdonald, COO, Silicon Oasis
Phoenix-based Crexendo is expanding its AI capabilities through a new partnership with Tresic, bringing conversation intelligence to a network that already supports more than eight million users globally.
Crexendo announced the partnership on August 25, adding Tresic to its Ecosystem Vendor Program. The move gives Crexendo's more than 250 cloud communications platform licensees the ability to offer AI-powered conversation intelligence services directly to their existing business customers.
The idea is fairly straightforward: businesses already generate an enormous amount of useful information through phone calls and messages. Tresic takes those conversations and turns them into something companies can actually use.
The platform can automatically identify follow-ups, create tasks, surface important customer moments, generate compliance evidence and identify trends across teams and locations. Instead of a sales call, customer service conversation or support request disappearing once someone hangs up, information from that conversation can be routed to the people responsible for acting on it.
Importantly, businesses don't have to rip out their existing communications infrastructure to use it. Tresic works with the phone systems they already have.
For Crexendo, that creates another product its network of service providers can sell to customers while expanding the company's broader AI strategy. Crexendo's AI offerings now include AI receptionist capabilities, conversation intelligence and standards-based conversational data.
Crexendo Chairman and CEO Jeff Korn said the company's licensee network provides a natural channel for getting practical AI tools into businesses.
Tresic CEO Kevin Nethercott put the opportunity another way: businesses already possess valuable intelligence inside the conversations happening every day. The challenge has been turning those conversations into action at scale.
This is the kind of Arizona technology story we want to see more of.
Crexendo isn't a small startup experimenting with AI on the margins. It's a publicly traded Phoenix technology company with more than eight million users and a distribution network of more than 250 platform licensees.
Tresic brings an AI-native product into that existing infrastructure.
That's an important combination.
A lot of the conversation around AI focuses on building new models or standalone applications. But some of the biggest opportunities may come from embedding AI into systems businesses already use every day.
Phone calls are a good example. Companies already have the conversations. They already have the customers. They already have the communications infrastructure. The opportunity is making the information moving through those systems more useful.
And from an Arizona perspective, there's something worth paying attention to here.
We want Arizona to build more technology companies, but we also want our established technology companies to become platforms that help new products reach larger markets. Partnerships like this create another path for technology companies to scale without having to build distribution from scratch.
That's part of what a stronger technology ecosystem looks like: founders building companies, established companies opening doors, capital supporting growth, and more of those relationships happening here in Arizona.
At Silicon Oasis, our job is to help create more of those connections across the state — between founders, investors, operators, established companies and the people building the next generation of Arizona technology.
Crexendo and Tresic are showing what that can look like in practice.
